As promised, today we will practice vocabulary. This time we will focus on verbs with prefix ver-. Do you remember the list of verbs with separable prefixes I gave you another day? The prefix ver- is the one that is not separated from the verb, so it doesn’t go to the end of the sentence:

Example: Tom verließ Boston. – Tom left Boston.

When we build sentences in Perfekt time the prefix ver- overtakes the role of the prefix ge- in building the appropriate verb form:

Example: Wir haben den Raum geverlassen. – We left the room.
